Matt Himelfarb will be starting a new role in an operating company and exiting his role as one of three managing directors of Dallas Venture Partners. Himelfarb will be joining Dallas-based Vinli as Chief Operating Officer. Vinli is a connected car company and one of the many exciting businesses to rise out of the growing Dallas startup industry. Vinli was started in 2014 as an incubator business out of Dialexa Labs in Dallas. While not a portfolio company of DVP, Dialexa has partnered with DVP on prior events and the two firms have maintained a close relationship.
“This represents a terrific opportunity for Matt and we wish him well in his new endeavor,” said Jim Duda, one of the other managing directors at DVP. “Vinli is a great example of Dallas innovation at its best and stands in front of a massive market opportunity. I have no doubt Matt will contribute greatly to this team and a win for Vinli will mean a win for the Dallas area startup scene.”
DVP will continue to operate with Jim Duda and Mike Coppola as co-managing directors and Himelfarb will continue as an advisor to DVP. “We have built a solid reputation as a boutique investment firm with a high-touch approach to our portfolio companies. We plan to continue on this path and look forward to adding to our investment stable where we believe we can add value,” said Duda.
